‘Meet the Author’ session organized by National Book Trust
An author meet was conducted by National book Trust at their headquarters at Vasant Kunj, organised by NCCL, the children’s wing of NBT-India.Delhi. Children from Saksham Asha Centre (RGF), Badarpur attended the session.
Report from NBT– Students aged 11–16 from Saksham Asha Centre (RGF), Badarpur embarked on an exciting joyride filled with books, creativity, and imagination as they joined in a fun and enriching literary session at the headquarters of National Book Trust, India, organised by NCCL, the children’s wing of NBT-India.
The morning began on an inspiring and creative note with a “Meet the Author” session led by storyteller, trainer, and renowned children’s author Usha Chhabra. Young minds learned about her unique journey as an author, including her creative process, passion, and immense joy in crafting stories, poems, songs, and prose. Young readers were encouraged to cultivate the habit of reading by carrying books and writing pads and using them to express themselves creatively whenever possible. The interactive session delved into the significance and joy of writing and publishing books, and how these pursuits can enrich both one’s inner and outer world. She further shared snippets from her published works – ranging from stories and poems to non-fiction as the young listeners immersed themselves in delightful tales, rhymes, and rhythms that inspired them to create their own. The session concluded with a few students joining the author on stage to eagerly share their learnings from the day, making it a memorable moment of self-expression.
