Workshop on Storytelling and Communication Skills at The Kunj

Report by Maitri members– A session on ‘Storytelling and Communication Skills’ was taken by storytellers Usha Chhabra and Neeta Joshi  for the members of an ngo Maitri- a growing community of students and alumni from government schools. The theme of the session was learning storytelling as a tool for effective communication — to overcome fears and express themselves confidently. It was an engaging session where the girls actively participated and performed. They created their own spontaneous and funny stories, warmed up, and danced freely without the fear of judgment. The facilitators created a safe space where everyone could stand up and speak up confidently. The stories were not only narrated beautifully by Usha ma’am and Neeta ma’am but were also presented in such a lively way that the characters felt completely alive. It felt as if we were right there inside the story. Their perfect voice modulations, excellent mimicry, and crowd engagement were truly impressive. Each facilitator played multiple characters effortlessly, bringing every role to life single-handedly. The session was organized in collaboration with WICCI – Holistic Child Development Council and Niv Art Centre & Film Studios
