Imparting Values through Stories

Two Sessions for teachers of Delhi Council for Child Welfare (DCCW), a Delhi-based NGO dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of under-privileged, abandoned, homeless and disabled children were conducted.

In the session on Imparting Values through Stories, importance of values in the society was highlighted. Teachers were divided into groups and various value based stories were enacted by them. The focus of this session was innovation in value education through storytelling instead of preaching.

The session on Developing Creativity in Children, attempted to encourage the teachers to be more imaginative and creative. They were shown how different solutions can be there to a problem and so be open-minded in the classroom to accept different viewpoints of children. Teachers were guided to make creative assignments and worksheets to bring out the creativity in children.
